In all traditional religions there are both deities, individuals and spirits considered
the most senior and powerful second only to the Supreme Being, whether this be God,
Allah, the Universe or some other Cosmic Force. |
In some religions, these second level deities or spiritual forces are considered
Gods in themselves, while in other religious belief systems they are considered
singularly unique in divinity but without actually being Gods.

Traditionally positive Great Spirits
Traditionally positive great spirits include such figures as Abraham, Moses, Buddha,
Zoroaster, Jesus, Muhammad, Krishna as examples.
These figures are revered in their respective religions as key forces of the universe
and of major influence and importance.

Traditionally negative great spirits
Traditionally negative great spirits are those regarded as opposing forces of good
such as Satan and Lucifer (considered one and the same by some).
Such figures are regarded as the mortal enemy by many major religions that include
regular rituals and prayers aimed at thwarting the power of such superhuman beings.

One Heaven definition of a Great Spirit
Under the constitution of One Heaven, a Great Spirit is defined as:
A Great Spirit is a departed person, higher order
non-human lifeform or collectively created superforce, venerated and worshipped
as an Great Spirit, having shown clear and unmistakable holiness, spiritual power
and significant heroic moral leadership in their existence and elected to the office
of Great Spirit at least once under the rules of a Great Conclave according to the
Constitution of One Heaven.
It is important to note in this definition that while a Great Spirit is expected
as part of being elected to office to be a shining example, it does not imply that
they have always existed without negative actions.
On the contrary, the definition of a Great Spirit encompasses both those figures
regarded as traditionally the very good and those considered the leaders of evil
that have reformed their previous ways to claim both inheritance to One Heaven and
the right of being known and elected as a Great Spirit.
This is an essential understanding concerning One Heaven under both the Treaty of
the Spiritual States as well as the Treaty of Lucifer in which most importantly,
the United States of Spirits is formed and the disparate spiritual realms including
Hell are disbanded and united as a single unifying structure according to the constitution
of One Heaven.
